Israel to be annihilated?

Absolutely not!

Yet, Iran would if she could.  Israel believes her too.

Ahmadinijad is back in the news with his call to wipe Israel off of the map again.  Doesn't the guy know what redundancy means!?! Obviously not because it's another Ramadan and another clarion call for Peace in Palestine if the whole world destroys Israel.  He's absolutely convinced, based lately on Romneys trip to Israel, that "They(Zionists) are the decision makers, to the extent that the presidential election hopefuls [of the USA] must go and kiss the feet of the Zionists to ensure their election victory,”  What he just doesn't "get" is that America is allies with Israel because Israel is the only Democracy in the Middle East.  With our "Separation of Church and State" stance, America has never done well with Theocratic Countries.  That could change, especially is Obama is reelected but it stands so far. (1)

Israel is taking him seriously.  Benjamin Netanyahu told Leon Panetta, Americas Secretary of Denfense, that "time is running out to stop Irans nuclear programme."   At least by "peaceful means".  Panetta is trying to defuse the situation, particularly as Romney has that he "robustly supports military action" in a move by Israel to protect themselves from the dire consequences of not heeding Irans threats.  Panetta came bearing another plan to curtail Iran within eighteen months, which is when Irans threshold is expected to peak.  I don't see that as giving Israel much reassurance since a lot can happen even in a short period of time.  Netanyahu hasn't made any final decisions yet but the word is definitely out that he is prepared to swing into motion at anytime it seems necessary to him....and Netanyahu don't play.(2)

As I watch all of this unfold, I'm immediately thinking of the prophecy that states that Iran will definitely come against Israel in an alignment with Russia.  Not only Iran but the majority of the Muslim Countries surrounding Israel.  In fact, I read somewhere the other day, or heard it on Christine Weicks radio show, (just don't remember)that where it states in Ezekiel 38 that "every mans sword shall be against his brother" could refer to the animosity between the Sunni and Shite Muslims.  It's conceivable since it is well known that these two sects of Islam have been warring for years.

Be that as it may, were Iran really respectful of "thee Book" as they claim to be they would read, and understand, what is coming against them from God Himself.  God has every intention of fulfilling His promise to Abraham and giving him all of the Land He promised.  That will take another war such as the "6 day war" and the "Yom Kippur" war where Israels boundaries were extended.  It will happen again and the fact that Israel is preparing for the eventually tells me that God is preparing them for the day of battle.

The Third, and Final, Temple in Jerusalem

"MK Zevulun Orlev of the Jewish Home party has called for massive reforms, including new Basic Laws, in order to establish a Third Temple in Jerusalem.
In an article (PDF) published in advance of the fast of Tisha B’Av in the weekly Hebrew journal Olam Katan, entitled “Internal and Legislative Reform,” Orlev wrote that the Temple must be rebuilt in Jerusalem and that “fundamental changes” to Israeli society and government were necessary in order to realize the success of the project."(1)
Plans to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem have been in the works for many years, even to the point of having all of the tools needed, the clothing for the Priests and the red heifer bred for sacrifice.  To quibble about there not being a Temple is to discount the fact that it is written in Scripture that the Anti-Christ will desecrate the Temple in the midst of the Tribulation, proclaiming himself to be God.(Daniel 9:27)  Jesus, Himself, calls it "the holy place" (Matthew 24:15) and commands us to understand that when the Anti-Christ stands where "it does not belong"(Mark 13:14) Even Paul further interates the fact that there will be a Temple in his admonishion concerning when the Anti-christ sets himself up "in Gods temple"(2 Thessalonians 2:3-4) So, it is definitive that there will be a Temple.
The fact that there is now a Legal process that is calling for the rebuilding of the Temple to be made into a Law further solidifies it's building.  The greatest problem is it's location and the fact that the Dome of the Rock as well as the Al Aqsa Mosque are where the Temple belongs.  That is a sure basis for a political firestorm, as well as out and out war, to say the least.  However, God said there will be one so He has plans afoot to the removal of the above so that it can be built.
