"Forget the Olympics - Here come the superhuman games for genetically enhanced athletes"(1)
One of the strangest parts of the Bible is the subject of Fallen Angels "marrying" human women, who then birthed "giants"; "men of renown"(the subject of mythological stories the world over). Just who were these people and how did that happen? Some say the "sons of God" were no more than the decedents of Seth. This theory was proposed beginning in the 5th Century while Jewish Leaders and Early Church Fathers had followed the plain reading of the Bible and continually adhered to the belief that, indeed, the "sons of God" were, in reality, fallen angels. This is substantiated by the Word of God, in verses where "sons of God" are listed, the context is evident in referring to Angels. Further, being "created in the image of God" (making them "sons of God"), directly refers to Angels, Adam, and the new-born children of God. All others are "born after the image of Adam". That is plainly revealed in Genesis 5:3 where it is written that Adam had "begot a son, in his own likeness, after his image and called his name Seth". Seth had the nature of his father, Adam, not the Nature of God so he could not be called a "son of God" at that time.
The second argument is that it is written that Angels do not marry. Jesus said that plainly. However that doesn't preclude sexual intercourse outside of marriage. It is possible that Angels can reproduce themselves in other ways, ie, genetic manipulation. This is shown in Daniel 2, where it says, concerning the last worldly kingdoms, "they" shall mingle themselves". Who are the "they"? They can't be human because that would change the whole meaning of the passage. There would be no reason to state that "humans" will mingle themselves with "the seed of men", "seed" meaning posterity, or children. So, somehow, Fallen Angels mingle themselves with the seed of men. As they can show themselves as ordinary men it would be an easy thing to do. That is well-proved where it is written that the Lord and two of His Angels came to Abraham before He was to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.(Genesis 18) Abraham recognized them as who they were but, later on, the same two Angels went to Sodom to rescue Lot and his family and the Sodomites perceived the Angels as human males and wanted to "know them", an euphemism for sexual intercourse. Since these two Angels were righteous Angels they blinded the Sodomites and, soon thereafter, the Lord destroyed them in a blast of fire and brimstone. Obviously the Sodomites perceived the Angels as beings capable of intimacy.
That also explains why the Lord had the Israelites destroy all the Canaanite cities they came to, including men, women, children and animals. Their "seed" had been corrupted by the Nephillim, or offspring of the mixture of angels/daughters of men. It was a repeat of the days before God destroyed the earth completely and saved only Noah, who was found "perfect", meaning his DNA had not been corrupted. We know this because Noah was not a sinless man. Shortly after the flood subsided and Noah had established his home he was found drunk with wine. So even after God destroyed the world, the Fallen Angels again began to mix with humans. It will happen one more time.
Jesus said "But as the days of Noe were so shall also the coming of the Son of Man shall be". Not only were the people eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage but evil was rampant as it is written "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." There is nothing there to indicate that the line of Seth fared any better than any other generation. And so it will be again. As the Olympics focus on the prowess of men(and women) to the point of physical worship of the body, so does the thoughts of man lean towards their own efforts at immortality. They want to live forever but without submission to the Lord God. Hence we have cloning, DNA manipulation and all the evils that go with it. They have succeeded in many ways but where does their inspiration come from? As Satan is known to have his own "seed",(Genesis 3:15) I believe that that is the source for all the genetic manipulation that is going on. Satan is making his own kingdom to fight against God with himself in the Person known as THE Anti-Christ. Genetically enhanced humans are only a small part of that as Satan uses then abuses all in his quest to "be God".
